Church of St Peter & St Paul, Yattendon, Berkshire
Quinquennial inspection to a significant historic church.
Manifest are appointed by the parish of Yattendon & Frilsham to inspect and carry out repair works to the two churches in their care. The church of St Peter and St Paul lies at the heart of the thriving village of Yattendon. The church, listed at Grade I, was built mostly in the 15th century, primarily of flint, with limestone detailing, and a fine new roof covering of handmade plain clay tiles. The spire is covered in timber shingles, built by the well-known Victorian architect Alfred Waterhouse, who lived in the village. The interior of the church is dominated by the very fine exposed Medieval oak roof structure, in a manner common in this part of Berkshire.
Manifest have carried out a comprehensive quinquennial inspection of the church, required under the Inspection of Churches Measure 1955.
