Low Stool

A bespoke stool in oak and cherry – designed and made by Manifest.

Manifest were commissioned to design and make a small stool – a tiny project, but one in which we could bring to bear all our woodworking skills.  The top is made of a single wide oak board, while the feet are cut in a three-centred arch from a recycled oak rafter.  The broad dowels are made of cherry wood, felled in a friend’s garden in 2010, and seasoned since then in our workshop.  The finishing coats of tung oil bring out the colours and grains of timber beautifully.
