Church of St Frideswide, Frilsham, Berkshire

Quinquennial inspection to a historic, country church.

Manifest are appointed by the parish of Yattendon & Frilsham to inspect and carry out repair works to the two churches in their care. The church of St Frideswide lies outside the village of Frilsham, standing in its own beautiful churchyard rich with wild flowers. The small size of the church belies its understated beauty, with flint walls, fine Medieval windows and a charming Georgian red brick tower.  Manifest have carried out a comprehensive quinquennial inspection of the church, required under the Inspection of Churches Measure 1955.

We were later appointed to carry out repairs to the churchyard’s fine cast iron railings, following damage by a storm-blown tree.  This involved extensive surveys and measurements, together with liaisons with the specialist craftspeople who were able to carry out the repairs in a like-for-like fashion.
